On 10 November 2020, the State Administration for Market Regulation (“SAMR”), China’s competition authority, released the Anti-Monopoly Guidelines on the Platform Economy (Draft for Public Opinions Solicitation) (the “Draft”). Around three months later, on 7 February 2021, the Anti-Monopoly Committee of the State Council officially published the Anti-Monopoly Guidelines of the Anti-Monopoly Committee of the State Council on Platform Economy (the “Guidelines”), which came into effect on the same day.
