The Hellenic Competition Authority issues its first decision under the new simplified settlement procedure (Hondos)

February 2017 marks the first decision of the Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) under the terms of the new simplified Settlement Procedure. The case The HCC settled a case against eight companies of the HONDOS "group" (run by different family members) in the beauty and cosmetics market regarding infringements of Articles 1 of the Greek Competition Act and 101 TFEU (Decision No. 636/2017). More specifically, in the context of an ex officio investigation, following a complaint by the company NOTOS com, the HCC found that the above mentioned companies engaged in horizontal price-fixing by determining the retail prices of their products for the period June 2003-June 2006, and consequently violated the EU and Greek competition law rules.
