The Slovak Competition Authority publishes a working draft of its standpoint on vertical restraints outlining its views on vertical competition issues

Introduction The Competition Authority of Slovakia ("SCA") published on 4 February 2015 a working draft of the Standpoint on Vertical Agreements ("Standpoint") and invited the relevant public to discuss the main ideas outlined in the Standpoint. The Standpoint has been published in the context of an announcement of the SCA to concentrate on the area of motor vehicles and the food industry which tend to be industries prone to vertical infringements [1]. The SCA informs in the Standpoint that the purpose of the material is to clarify its stance on vertical issues which are, however, still a controversial part of the competition policy and are perceived differently by different competition authorities.
