The Italian Competition Authority sanctions a cartel of 26 pasta producers and professional associations on the basis of Art. 81.1 EC (Listino prezzi della pasta)

On 25 February 2009 the Authority ascertained two price-fixing cartels in the Italian market of durum semolina pasta and fined 26 pasta producers (Amato, Barilla, Colussi, De Cecco, Divella, Garofalo, Nestlé, Rummo, Zara, Berruto, Delverde, Granoro, Riscossa, Tandoi, Cellino, Chirico, De Matteis, Di Martino, Fabianelli, Ferrara, Liguori, Mennucci, Russo, La Molisana, Tamma, Valdigrano) and 2 associations of undertakings (UNIPI and UnionAlimentari). The pasta producers involved in the first cartel (representing approximately 90% of the entire production of durum semolina pasta marketed in the Italian market) participated from October 2006 to March 2008 to periodical meetings organised within the association of undertakings UNIPI. The meetings were aimed at adopting a common pricing
