On 24 May 2006, the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato (hereinafter, also AGCM) opened investigations against FNOVI, the National Associations of Veterinarians, and the Association of Veterinarians of Turin, to ascertain the existence of an agreement between the two undertakings in breach of Art. 81 EC. As a consequence of the commitments undertaken by the parties to change the relevant legislation, the AGCM decided, on 21 February 2007, to close investigations without finding any infringement whatsoever and declared the commitments compulsory. The facts and the relevant legislation FNOVI [1] is the national disciplinary body which represents 100 provincial associations of veterinarians existing in Italy, among which is the Association of Turin.
