On 24 May 2006, the Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato (hereinafter, also AGCM) opened investigations against FNOVI, the National Associations of Veterinarians, and the Association of Veterinarians of Turin, to ascertain the existence of an agreement between the two undertakings in breach of Art. 81 EC. As a consequence of the commitments undertaken by the parties to change the relevant legislation, the AGCM decided, on 21 February 2007, to close investigations without finding any infringement whatsoever and declared the commitments compulsory.
