The operation On 2 August 2006 the Bundeskartellamt was notified of the proposed acquisition of ABAC Aria Compressa S.p.A., Italy (“ABAC”) by a subsidiary of Atlas Copco AB, Sweden (“Atlas Copco”). Atlas Copco is the controlling company of a group that is active worldwide in manufacturing and supplying machines and tools for mining, compressors, generators and electric tools. Atlas Copco's annual worldwide turnover in 2005 was €5.7 billion. ABAC is globally active in manufacturing and distributing different types of compressors and systems for the provision of compressed air for commercial and industrial applications.
