The Polish Competition Authority issues a decision on collusion concerning ISO certificates (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Konkurencji i Konsumentów)

By way of its decision no. RWR 13/2017 of 29 December 2017, the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (“OCCP”) imposed a financial penalty exceeding PLN 461,000 (approx. EUR 112,000) on Istituto Italiano del Marchio di Qualita (“IMQ”) for fixing prices and dividing the market with Dekra Certification (“Dekra”). Dekra avoided the penalty thanks to the leniency programme, while the fine imposed on IMQ was reduced by half. Both companies operate on the market of management system certificates services.
