Newspapers to amend business practices considered anti-competitive by The Competition Authority* The Competition Authority today (13th December) announced details of its investigation into allegations that the price at which retailers sell newspapers was fixed. The Competition Authority has also announced details of separate agreements it has reached with Independent Newspapers (Ireland) Limited and The Irish Times Limited in which both companies will amend their terms and conditions of business as well as their contracts with newspaper retailers. As a result of these assurances, The Competition Authority has decided to discontinue its investigation as it relates to Independent Newspapers and The Irish Times.
