The Moldovan Competition Authority holds the government accountable for the anticompetitive actions of a State-owned company (Ministry of Finance / Loteria Națională a Moldovei)

On 24 August 2017 the Competition Council (CC) [1] held that the Ministry of Finance has violated competition law by endorsing the decision of the state-owned enterprise to accord favorable treatment to a private company in the gaming market. [2] In 2014 the CC has commenced an investigation into the alleged infringement of Article 12 Competition Act, which prohibits the following actions of the state authorities: (a) limiting the rights undertakings to freely purchase or sell on the market; (b) establishing discriminatory conditions or granting privileges to companies, if these are not provided for by law; (c)
