The Belgian Competition Authority conditionally approves merger in highly concentrated print magazines market (De Persgroep / Humo)

Conditional approval of media merger defuses the risk of four popular Dutch language magazines disappearing from the Belgian market. On 04 August 2015, and in the context of a Phase I procedure, the Competition College of the Belgian Competition Authority conditionally approved the acquisition of control of a number of popular Dutch-language Belgian magazines (Story, Teve-blad, Vitaya and Humo) by De Persgroep. De Persgroep is a major Belgian media group which publishes newspapers and magazines and which has significant interests in radio, television and online services.
