The Swedish Competition Authority approves the voluntary commitments of an online hotel booking company subject to a fine (Booking.com)
The Swedish Competition Authority decided, on 15 April 2015, to approve the voluntary commitments presented by Bookingdotcom Sverige AB and Booking.com BV (below, jointly referred to as “Booking.com”). The commitments are associated with a fine of SEK 5 million (approx. EUR 550 000) for Bookingdotcom Sverige AB and SEK 30 million (approx. EUR 3.3 million) for Booking.com BV. The Competition Authority does not take a final position on whether an infringement has taken place. Booking.com BV is a Dutch company which makes available a platform where customers can book hotel rooms, www.booking.com.
