The Italian Antitrust Authority (hereinafter, also “IAA”) has recently started an investigation in the market of collection and payment services for an alleged abuse of dominant position by the Italian postal operator. Party under investigation The investigation started after a complaint sent to the Authority by Associazione Centro Servizi Diritti del Cittadino, an association that deals with the protection of citizens' rights. The party under investigation is Poste Italiane S.p.a. (hereinafter, also Poste Italiane), the company leading Gruppo Poste Italiane and in charge with the management of the universal postal service in Italy.
