The French Competition Council has published a revised leniency programme which aligns the French model to the European Model Leniency Programme launched by the European Competition Network (hereinafter: the “ECN”) in September 2006. The European Model Leniency Programme was introduced in order to improve the handling of parallel leniency applications in the EU by establishing common principles for leniency applications in all Member States cooperating within the ECN [1]. This standardisation of leniency procedures in the EU countries responds to the internationalisation of material (substantive) competition law and completes this internationalisation from the point of view of procedural law.
