The EU Commission conditionally approves a proposed acquisition of an Italian chemicals company by a Belgian chemicals company (Solvay / Ausimont)

Solvay has committed itself to sell a state of the art plant in Alabama, in the United States, which makes non-coatings PVDF, a high performance fluoropolymer, as well as Ausimont‘s stake in MedAvox, a joint venture with Degussa which produces a bleaching agent used in detergents.
