The EU Commission adopts a decision to encourage sale of railway tickets by travel agencies (International Union of Railways)

The Commission has adopted a decision against the International Union of Railways for infringement of the provisions of Article 85 of the EEC Treaty. The UIC is a worldwide association of railway companies through which its members cooperate at a technical and commercial level. Within the framework of this organisation the Railways acted in concert to lay down the conditions for granting approval to travel agencies
