Victoria Yuan acts for multinational clients on EU and U.K. competition law matters, focusing on both merger control and behavioral matters. She has successfully represented market leading clients in merger control cases before national competition authorities and the European Commission in a number of diverse sectors that include household names in health care, financial services, pharmaceuticals, energy, technology, fast moving consumer goods, construction materials, and real estate. Victoria represents clients before the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the European Commission in transactions to obtain regulatory clearance for mergers and acquisitions and for joint ventures, and she gained considerable experience in U.K. merger control during her service as a principal case officer in the Mergers Unit at the CMA. Victoria has advised on investigations into anticompetitive agreements and practices, including dawn raids, immunity and leniency applications, cartels investigations, market investigations, and abuses of dominant position. She has played a key role in advising a global IT hardware manufacturer in dawn raids conducted by the European Commission on its British, French, and German offices and applied for leniency to the European Commission on behalf of a financial services institution with respect to complex financial products and on subsequent cartel investigations.
