Richard Rinkema is Regional Director for Greater Asia, Competition and Innovation Law & Policy, for Microsoft. Mr. Rinkema is based in Singapore and as Microsoft’s Asia regional lead for competition and innovation law and policy, is responsible for antitrust compliance, government inquiries and filings, and policy development and outreach relating to AI and “big data” issues across Asia. Mr. Rinkema was previously based in Beijing, where he was responsible for antitrust in Microsoft’s Greater China region. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Rinkema practiced antitrust and IP law in Washington, DC, where he advised clients on matters in the US and EU. He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was a James Wilson Scholar and Executive Articles Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Economic Law.
