

Randolph Tritell
Randolph Tritell is the Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Office of International Affairs, where he is responsible for coordinating the FTC’s international antitrust and consumer protection policies and the FTC’s involvement in cases that raise international issues. He represents the FTC in multilateral fora including the International Competition Network, in which he serves on the Steering Group, and the OECD Competition Committee. Mr. Tritell is responsible for the FTC’s negotiation and implementation of bilateral international cooperation agreements and the competition and consumer protection provisions of US free trade agreements. Prior to joining the Federal Trade Commission in 1998, Mr. Tritell was a partner with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, practicing in the firm’s New York office and opening the firm’s Brussels office in 1992. Mr. Tritell began his career at the Federal Trade Commission, where he served in several positions including Assistant to Bureau of Consumer Protection Director Timothy Muris, Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Terry Calvani, and Executive Assistant to the Chairman. Mr. Tritell obtained his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an Editor of the Law Review, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Stony Brook University. Mr. Tritell is active in the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law, in which he co-chairs the International Task Force and serves on the advisory board of the Journal of Antitrust Enforcement and of the Fordham Corporate Law Institute. He is a frequent lecturer and author on international antitrust issues.
