President

Pierre Moscovici has been appointed the First President of the Court of auditors (Cour des comptes) on June 3rd, 2020. He has been the European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and Customs from November 2014 to November 2019. Previously, he was a member of the French Parliament from 2007 to 2014. He was also member of the Commission for foreign affairs and deputy President of the Delegation for european affairs. He is a professor at the Institut d’études politiques in Paris teaching “European issues”. Formerly, he was a member of the European Parliament from 1994 until 1997 and from 2004 until 2007. During this last period, he was also deputy President of the European Parliament. Pierre Moscovici was appointed in 1997 as deputy secretary for European affairs in the cabinet headed by the Prime Minister Lionel Jospin and he stayed in office until 2002. Noticeably he is in charge of the preparation of the French presidency of EU in 2000. In 2002, he is the French representative at the European convention for the future of Europe. He was the President of the European Movement (France) from 2005 until 2006.
