Maris Butans is a Senior Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal. He was previously Senior Legal Counsel at the Competition Council of Latvia. He studied at the Riga Graduate School of Law and University of Groningen (the Netherlands), where he obtained master’s degree in law and LLM in European Union Law respectively. His educational background is supplemented by postgraduate diploma from King’s College London in Economics for Competition Law. His practice areas are competition law, international trade and banking&finance. Maris Butans leads competition law group of PwC Legal in Riga (Latvia). He speaks Latvian, English and Russian.
