Mariana Tavares de Araujo is a partner with Levy & Salomao Advogados in Brazil. Prior to joining Levy & Salomão Advogados, Ms. Araujo held a series of important appointments in government during a nine-year period. As Secretary of Economic Law of Brazil’s Ministry of Justice – SDE from 2006 to 2010, she was in charge of the Departments of Competition and Consumer Protection, as well as the Federal Council for the Management of Collective Rights. Ms. Araujo is a member of the International Bar Association and of the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law and is licensed to practice law in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo sections). Global Competition Review named her on its list of the Top 100 Women in Antitrust. She holds an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, in Washington, DC and an LL.B from Catholic University, in Rio de Janeiro.
