María Pilar Canedo Arrillaga is a lawyer and a university professor specializing in competition and private law who is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the National Commission for Markets and Competition. She was President of the Basque Competition Authority (AVC) between June 2012 and July 2017. Previously, she was a member of the Basque Court for the Defence of Competition from June 2010 until her appointment as President of the Basque Competition Authority, an autonomous body that replaced the TVDC.
