Sam is originally a British national and has practiced as attorney (Advokat) for eight years in Copenhagen, Denmark with top tier law firm Gorrissen Federspiel. He is a seasoned competition law practitioner with extensive expertise in advising businesses on how to handle all antitrust issues including anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominance, and merger control. One of Sam’s particular areas of expertise is advising dominant companies on pricing strategies & discount design in order to avoid any form of pricing abuse. Sam has vast experience within advocacy before national competition authorities and the European Commission and has an impressive track record of fending off accusations of wrong-doing on behalf of clients. He has represented companies in national court proceedings as well as at the General Court and European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Sam has handled a substantial number of merger control cases including complex and economics heavy Phase II investigations. Moreover, state aid and general EU law fall within his field of expertise. Sam is native in English as well as Danish, and is (slowly) learning Hungarian.
