Case Handler

Jaime is a case-handler at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition within the antitrust unit responsible for payment systems. Before, Jaime was an associate in the Antitrust, Competition and Economic Regulation (ACER) practice of Hogan Lovells Brussels. Jaime focuses on all aspects of EU law and competition, with particular experience in antitrust/cartel investigations and multi-jurisdictional merger control. He has particular knowledge in the financial services, retail banking, payment systems and FinTech sector. Jaime studied Law at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and holds an LL.M in European Competition and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Liège and an LL.M in European Union Law from the University of Maastricht. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Jaime worked at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition on cartel investigations in different industry sectors. He previously worked as a trainee lawyer at the Legal Service of the Spanish Competition Authority (Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia).
