Francis Kramarz is the director of the Centre de Recherché en Economie et Statistique (CREST). He is Professor at ENSAE and Associate Professor at Ecole Polytechnique. He also leads the Labex group ECODEC uniting ENSAE, HEC, and Ecole Polytechnique in their research on “Regulating the French Economy”. He recently was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society (2013), a Fellow of the European Economic Association as well as a member of the EEA Council (until 2020). He has been nominated for his expertise by the Prime Minister at the Conseil d’Orientation pour l’Emploi (advisory council on employment), Commission d’Experts sur le SMIC (minimum wages commission, until 2013), and the Conseil d’Analyse Economique (council of economic advisors, until 2013). He has published a hundred scientific articles in international journals on employment, wages, firms’ compensation policies, competition and employment, and firms in international trade. He is an associate editor of various economics journals. He has co-written a report on flexicurity « Vers une Sécurité Sociale Professionnelle » (with P. Cahuc) at the request of N. Sarkozy and J.L. Borloo published at the Documentation Française in 2005. In 2008, he published Working Hours and Job Sharing in the EU and USA, with T. Boeri and M. Burda, at Oxford University Press.
