Claude Crampes obtained his doctorate in economics from the University of Toulouse in 1975. He is now professor emeritus at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) and senior researcher at the Institut d’Economie Industrielle (IDEI). He was a member of the Economic Council of the Electricity Regulatory Commission and the National Committee for Scientific Research. He is currently advising EDF, the leading electricity producer and supplier in France. His areas of research interest are network economics, industrial organization, and the economics of intellectual property.
