Albert Riera is a Vice President at Compass Lexecon, based in Madrid. He is an economist with over ten years of experience in applying economic techniques to regulation, competition policy, and quantification of damages. A large share of his work has covered the energy space, but he also accumulates experience in merger control, 101 cases, 102 cases and quantification of damages in a variety of sectors, such as telecommunications, digital markets, or transport. Albert has testified as an economic expert in national courts of justice and has provided expert reports to the European Commission, competition authorities and regulators in several EU countries. Albert holds a Master in Economic Analysis from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and an MSci in Experimental and Theoretical Physics from Cambridge University.
