Vivek Agarwal

Vivek Agarwal heads the competition law practice of DMD Advocates. He is a seasoned antitrust lawyer and has been working closely with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and the Indian Government with the drafting of the CCI Regulations, including the merger control (combination) regulations. He represents companies across the full spectrum of competition law issues. He has been a part of many key antitrust enforcement and combination cases. He also takes up industry issues with the Government as the Co-Chair of the competition law committee at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has been engaged in various high profile enforcement cases before the CCI, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and the Supreme Court of India. On the merger control front, Vivek Agarwal has worked on many complex combination cases, including the ones involving structural/ behavioural remedies. He also focuses on vertical agreements and competition compliance programmes. Vivek Agarwal obtained his Master of Laws, with a special focus on competition law, at King’s College London. He is a member of the International Bar Association and the (Indian) Supreme Court Bar Association. He also conducts lectures and seminars on competition law at various law schools and industry forums.”
