Ms. Sinem Uğur is Head of Compliance and Competition at Metro AG. Sinem graduated from Istanbul Commerce University in 2011. She was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2013 and same year joined ELIG Gürkaynak Attorneys-at-Law. Sinem has extensive experience in all areas of competition law, including anti-dumping, trade defense tools, compliance programs in various sectors, cartel agreements, abuse of dominance cases, vertical agreements, merger control. She also provided legal assistance to national and multinational companies, and industry associations during trade policy defence tools investigations initiated by investigating authorities both in Turkey and abroad. She has co-authored a number of articles and has spoken at conferences and symposia pertaining to her practice areas. She is fluent in English.
