Rudolph J.R. Peritz

Prof. Rudolph J.R. Peritz (1946-2015) taught courses and seminars in Antitrust, Intellectual Property, Contracts, Cyberlaw, Economic Regulation, Jurisprudence and Property. He visited Cardozo Law School (United States), University of Essex (United Kingdom), LUISS “Guido Carli” (Italy) and University of Hong Kong (China). He lectured regularly in the U.S. and Europe. Prof. Rudolph J.R. Peritz has been a Langdell Fellow at Harvard Law School (United States), Fernand Braudel Fellow at the European University Institute (Italy), Senior Research Fellow at the American Antitrust Institute (United States), Assistant Attorney General and Director, Computer-Assisted Enforcement Project, Antitrust Division, Attorney General of Texas and Lecturer in Law at the University of Texas (United States); and practicing attorney specializing in computer-related litigation. Before entering the legal profession, he was a systems engineer and software programmer for mainframe computers. He authored two books: Competition Policy in America: History, Rhetoric, Law (Oxford University Press, 1996 & 2001) and U.S. Antitrust in Global Context (West Publishing, 2004) (with Eleanor Fox & Lawrence Sullivan), as well as numerous articles, book chapters, and papers. He co-edited two books from Edward Elgar, More Common Ground for International Competition Law? and TRIPS and Developing Countries. Prof. Rudolph J.R. Peritz was co-editor of the book series for Edward Elgar entitled New Horizons in Competition Policy and Economics. He served on the Advisory Board, American Antitrust Institute (United States) and Executive Board, Academic Society for Competition Law at the Max Planck Institute (Germany).
