Paul Brown is a Partner at Hogan Lovells. His primary focus is on patents in the electronics and medical devices sector. His practice is multi-jurisdictional and predominantly litigious, although he also advises clients in relation to licensing and strategic planning. In the electronics sector, Paul advises a variety of clients on both assertion of patents and defence against infringement claims in disputes concerning essential and non-essential technologies, and is dubbed the ’mobile phones expert’ by Legal 500, 2015. In conjunction with the Hogan Lovells Competition Law practice, Paul also advises clients on the overlap between competition law and IP, including on issues such as the availability of injunctions on essential patents and other aspects of FRAND obligations. In the medical device sector, Paul has represented clients in cases relating to coronary stents and also septal defect occlusion devices.
