Patrik Albrecht is a commercial lawyer specialized in competition law (both in public & private enforcement) advising Fortune Global 500 companies - mainly European holdings on a variety of competition (horizontal and vertical cartel investigation proceedings, dominant position issues, state aid), commercial and M&A legal issues. With a strong focus on compliance, Patrik is implementing antitrust compliance programs and internal whistle-blowing directives and guidelines. Patrik has a longstanding passion for competition law, his diploma thesis (2017, Charles University) was dealing with State aid and financing of transport infrastructure under the EU law. As proof of his dedication to competition law, he decided to remain involved in the academic field and drafted and defended a Juris Doctor thesis (2020, Charles University) about private enforcement of competition law and damage actions based on the directive 2014/104/EU. The Czech Bar Association nominated Patrik Albrecht to participate in the prestigious Young Lawyers Contest hold by Academy of European Law ERA (Trier, Germany), which took place virtually on 4-5 February 2021. The knowledge of EU law was tested in three different rounds (writing, negotiation and oral pleadings).
