Nathalie Sonnac was nominated to serve as a Commissioner in the CSA by the President of the French Parliament in January 2015. Ms Sonnac has a long career in the public sector. She previously chaired the Department of Information and Communication Sciences at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University and was in charge of the professional diploma Master 2 "Media & Public". She has initiated the Academic Chair “Audiovisual & Digital” at the Panthéon-Assas University. She was a member of the Conseil national du numérique (The French Digital Council), Le Monde’s Ethics Committee and co-founded the Think tank “Audiovisual & Digital Technologies”. As an economic, media, cultural, & digital expert, she has published numerous scientific books and articles. She holds a PHD in Economics and an Accreditation to Direct Research (HDR).
