Mercedes Pedraz is a judge at the Audiencia National, Court of Appeal, in Madrid. She studied law and social sciences at the University of Salamanca and obtained a degree in European law at the College of Europe in Brugges. She became a judge in 1987. Formerly a member of the criminal and civil courts, she has been a judge since January 1992 at the Audiencia Nacional in Madrid, dealing with economic and competition matters. Mercedes Pedraz has participated as a teacher in several courses for the training of judges, both in Spain, Europe and Latin America and is also the author of several books and articles on competition law.
