Dr. Kirtikumar MEHTA was Cartels Director in the Directorate-General (DG) for Competition of the European Commission from 2005 to 2009. He joined the DG for Competition in 1994 after working for more than a decade in the DG for the Internal Market and Industry. In the DG for Competition, he previously worked in the Merger Task Force, as Director for Competition Policy and Legislation, and as Director for Consumer Goods Industry. Dr Mehta obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics.
