João Azevedo

João works at the European Commission since 2013. He was previously Senior Expert in the competition Division of the Directorate for Financial and enterprise Affairs of the OECD. Before that, he was the Director of the Merger Department at the Portuguese Competition Authority. He previously worked as a Principal at Charles River & Associates in London. He obtained a PhD in Economics at the European Network for Training in Economic Research (ENTER) whith the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) and the University College London (UK). Before that, he studied Economics at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal).
