Jason Beer has extensive experience advising on EU, UK, and international competition laws, including complex multijurisdictional merger controls, cartel and conduct issues, dominance issues, and market investigations across a range of industries. Jason Beer has also advised a number of large companies on antitrust compliance concerns and antitrust investigations, several that have been in the context of sectorwide responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to rejoining Jones Day, Jason Beer acted for a large UK supermarket in the proposed acquisition of a competitor (and the associated Competition & Markets Authority [CMA] Phase 2 investigation); a leading global asset management business in relation to the CMA’s market investigation into investment consultancy and fiduciary management services; and a leading European financial institution in relation to potential competition conduct issues.
Jason Beer worked in Jones Day’s Sydney Office before rejoining the firm in London. He also previously worked in the London office of a large European firm and in the merger control division of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
Jason is a member of the Competition Law Section of the Law Society of England and Wales, the UK Competition Law Association (the British Group of the International League of Competition Law), and the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association.
