

Jacques Boulard
Jacques Boulard is the Chief Justice of the Paris Court of Appeal, starting the 1st of September 2022. Prior to his current role, Mr. Boulard was the Chief Justice of the Toulouse Court of Appeal (from November 2017 to September 2022). Chief Justice Boulard graduated from the University of Paris-Nanterre with a Master’s Degree in Law and was admitted to the French National School for the Judiciary (ENM). From 1991 to 2001, he served as Attorney General, during which time, he was appointed head of the judicial organization office at the Ministry of Justice. He was appointed chief justice of the courts of Libourne in 2003, Reims in 2008, Valenciennes in 2011, and Nanterre in 2014, all main first-instance courts where he put all his energy into reaching a high level of quality of Justice and for judgments being rendered within a reasonable time frame. He considers the use of technology in the administration of Justice of particular importance in order to enhance access to justice. Finally, he is particularly attentive to international economic justice and regulatory authorities such as the competition authority or the financial markets authority (AMF).
