Jack Mays is a Senior Associate based in RBB’s Melbourne office. Before joining RBB in 2014, Jack gained a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College Dublin and a master’s degree in economics from University College London (UCL). Jack has experience of a wide range of competition matters including horizontal and conglomerate mergers, abuse of dominance cases and regulatory issues. He has worked on competition cases in several jurisdictions, including Australia, China, the EU and the UK, and his sectoral experience encompasses air transport, car rentals, gyms, payment systems, records management and telecommunications. In Australia, Jack recently advised the acquiring party in relation to each of the first two merger authorisations granted by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC): first, AP Eagers’ takeover of AHG and, second, Gumtree’s acquisition of Cox Media. He also recently advised the ACCC in Vodafone v. ACCC and ACCC v. NSW Ports, each before the Federal Court.
