Giorgio joined Portolano Cavallo as a Senior Associate in June 2016, focusing mainly on extraordinary transactions: M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital. Giorgio assists Italian and foreign clients, advising and assisting in all phases of transactions involving the acquisition or sale of shareholdings or company shares, the sale or lease of a company or business unit, as well as the transfer of strategic assets, including assistance with obtaining and issuing guarantees or securities ancillary to the transaction. Beyond these specialty areas, during the course of his career, Giorgio has gained significant experience in various areas of civil law, focusing on, among other aspects, civil dispute and pre-dispute resolution, commercial contracts, general assistance for companies and consultancy for start-ups, where he assists companies starting from the early stage through the subsequent rounds of fundraising. He also provides assistance to specialized funds and investors for Venture Capital and Corporate Venture transactions. Giorgio graduated cum laude from the University of Turin in 2008 and began his professional career at the law firm of Tosetto, Weigmann and Associates in Turin, Italy. In 2012, he participated in a job exchange at FATA EPC, a division of FATA S.p.A. (at the time, a Finmeccanica Group company) and now part of the Danieli Group, dealing especially with procurement contracts and subcontracting in the energy sector. Lastly, before joining Portolano Cavallo, he was a mid-associate at the firm of Gattai, Minoli, Agostinelli & Partners. Giorgio frequently participates in and speaks at M&A and extraordinary transaction seminars and conferences, especially concerning Venture Capital transactions and start-ups. He is an active member of the AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats – International Association of Young Lawyers) and the AGAT (Associazione Giovani Avvocati di Torino – Turin Association of Young Lawyers).
