Fatma El-Zahraa Adel is the head of Competition Law Department at Alliance Law Firm - Egypt (ALF) since July 2023. She is responsible for handling all competition law matters related to anticompetitive practices investigations and merger filings. She works on advising international and local clients to ensure compliance with applicable competition laws. Prior to assuming this position, Fatma started her career since 2009 in the Egyptian Competition Authority. She was the legal advisor to the Chairman for Competition Law & Policy since 2018 where she provided guidance on the cases and studies in the Authority and acted as a strong advocate for competition. Fatma earned her PhD in competition law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (2019), she holds a Master’s degree in International Business Law from the University of Burgundy (2008) and law degrees from both Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University and Cairo University. She has an immense experience in the Egyptian Competition Law along with EU, US, France and COMESA relevant competition laws and regulations.
