Chris Whelan is a Principal at RBB Economics based in Melbourne, and joined the firm in April 2011. He has over ten years of economic consulting experience based in Melbourne and London. Chris contributed to the research report “Cost Pass-Through: Theory, Measurement & Potential Policy Implications”, published by the UK Competition and Markets Authority in 2014. Chris has advised on nearly all aspects on competition law, including horizontal and vertical mergers, information exchanges, vertical agreements and misuse of market power. He has worked on cases in a range of sectors including finance, telecoms, grocery retailing, fast moving consumer goods, hard disk drives, public and private healthcare, ports, bus transport, rail, post, gas, electricity. Chris gained a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
