As a member of Troutman Sanders’ state attorneys general and regulatory investigations, strategy + enforcement (RISE) practice groups, Christopher Carlson draws upon his firsthand government experience when counseling clients. He advises on a wide variety of state and federal regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on state consumer protection laws related to consumer financial services, data security, advertising and marketing, manufacturing, and digital currency. The review and understanding of emerging regulatory issues are central to Christopher Carlson’s work on behalf of clients, and he often represents companies undertaking data security investigations or developing compliance plans. In each representation, Christopher Carlson leverages his experience as a West Virginia assistant attorney general and judicial law clerk to the Honorable David A. Faber in the U.S. District Court to identify successful resolutions to multifaceted investigations and enforcement actions.
