Catarina Midões works at Bruegel as a Research Assistant, where her research is centered on Better Regulation in EU law-making, Competition Policy and Cohesion Policy. Before joining Bruegel, Catarina worked as an Economic Analyst at Oxera, where she focused on transport economics, namely on impact assessment and ex-post evaluation of competition effects of mergers and acquisitions and of franchising schemes, and on efficiency benchmarking in regulated utility markets. Catarina previously worked in the European Commission’s Joint Research Center, in the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation, where she focused on implementation of Structural Reforms. Catarina holds a MSc in Econometrics from Maastricht University and a BSc in Economics from Nova SBE.
