Brigitte Brun-Lallemand

Brigitte Brun-Lallemand studied law at the University of Paris II where she obtained a DEA in Private Law in 1987. After graduating from the Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature, she started her judicial career as an economic and financial investigating judge at the Paris Regional Court. She then spent six years in the Commercial Law Office of the Ministry of Justice, and was later appointed head of the Office. She was in charge of drafting legislation in company law, and contributed to the drafting of legislation on stock exchange law, auditing, intellectual property law, banking law and competition law. She also participated in the codification of the Commercial Code. In 2003, she joined on secondment the French Competition Authority as a case handler, which allowed her to gain practical knowledge antitrust law and abuse of dominant position. She then served six years as President of the Beauvais Regional Court and three years as First Vice-President of the Nanterre Regional Court. Brigitte Brun-Lallemand is now one of the three presidents of the 5/7 Chamber of the Paris Court of Appeals, specialised in economic regulation. She is responsible for the coordination of the economic and commercial section of the Court, which comprises 13 chambers.
