Ana is a case handler at the DG COMP. She has a joint law degree from Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne and the Law Faculty of the Bucharest University, as well as a master degree in Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer, Contracts and Competition Law from the Robert Schuman University (Strasbourg). She has also earned a post-graduate diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London and completed several executive trainings in EU Competition Law (e.g. training on the enforcement of competition policy in the high-tech sector offered by the College of Europe (Bruges) and competition law modules offered by the Brussels School of Competition). Before joining eMAG as Senior Legal Counsel in Bucharest, Ana gained 11 years of experience as a competition lawyer at top national (NNDKP) and international law firms (Clifford Chance and DLA Piper). Ana has developed her specialization in the field of competition law by providing assistance to companies in various sectors, with a particular focus on FMCG and e-commerce in connection with a wide range of competition matters: investigations regarding alleged anti-competitive practices and abuse of dominance, sector inquiries, merger clearance, general competition advice on various competition aspects of companies’ day-to-day business, implementation of competition compliance programs, antitrust audits, including mock-dawn raids and post-dawn raids risk assessments. In 2015, Ana completed a 5-month internship at the European Commission, DG Competition – Unit C-3 dealing with Antitrust in the IT, internet and consumer electronics sector, where she contributed to high-profile investigations conducted by the unit.
