Ting received her Bachelor law degree from Peking University in 2004 and an LL.M. in European Community Law from Leiden University in 2005. In 2010, she took a traineeship at European Commission DG Competition for 6 months. During 2011–2014, she worked with prestigious competition law teams in Brussels.
