Prof. Dr. Hans Jürgen Meyer-Lindemann is partner in Frankfurt’s and Brussels’ Dechert offices. Practicing German and European competition law, he has handled high-profile merger control cases before the European Commission and national competition authorities ; major cartel investigations in a variety of industries ; and numerous litigation matters concerning both public and private enforcement before local and district courts, Germany’s Federal Supreme Court and the European courts. Prior to joining Dechert, Hans Jürgen Meyer-Lindemann was partner in Shearman & Sterling for 21 years. He also previously worked in the Frankfurt and Düsseldorf offices of a leading German law firm, as well as in the Atlanta, Georgia office of a U.S. law firm. In addition to his legal practice, he has published extensively on competition law topics and serves as a lecturer on competition law at Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf, where he has been appointed as Honorary Professor in 2013. He holds a J.D. degree from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität, Bonn.
