Felipe Irarrázabal Philippi was appointed in April 2010 for the position of National Economic Prose- cutor by the then Chilean President Sebastián Piñera Echenique, following a public tender in the framework of the High Public Management System. On August 3, 2014, the appointment was renewed by President Michelle Bachelet Jeria for an additional period of four years. He attended Law School at the University of Chile and got his Masters Degree from Yale University. Before taking over as National Economic Prosecutor, he was a partner at the law rm Philippi, Yrarrá- zaval, Pulido & Brunner. He also worked at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, New York, and at Chile’s Ministry of Education. Since 2000 he has been Professor of Economic Law at University of Chile’s Law School and he teaches postgraduate courses at several universities.
