Dominic Long is a Senior Associate in Allen & Overy LLP’s global antitrust practice. Dominic has advised clients on several high profile and complex merger clearances before both the European Commission and UK merger control authorities, as well as in relation to abuse of dominance and restrictive agreements investigations. At the European level, Dominic has advised on three Phase II clearances under the EU Merger Regulation. In the UK Dominic has advised merging parties on a number of interventions by the Secretary of State under the Enterprise Act 2002 including Sky in relation to its acquisition of a stake in ITV, HBOS on its acquisition by Lloyds and News Corporation (as it then was) on its proposed acquisition of Sky. Dominic is recommended by Legal 500 2016 as a ‘smart and effective’ antitrust counsel. Dominic has a First Class degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Oxford (Jesus College) and an MPhil in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge (St John’s College).
